Use a strong password
- Choose a password or passphrase that can’t be guessed, and don’t use the same one for your other accounts. That way even if one account login is hacked, your others are safe.
- Use a password management app if you’re worried you’ll forget your password.
- Your login details are personal to you and should not be shared with anyone else — not even a family member.
- Our staff do not need your online password to help you and we will never ask you for it. Your telephone banking password (the one we ask for when you call us) should be different to your online account password.
Make sure it's really us
- Criminals can steal your details by fooling you into entering them on fake websites which look real.
- Log in directly from our website or app.
- Check the website is the real thing by making sure you are on https://londonplus.cuaccount.com/login/, and clicking the padlock icon to be sure.
- If you get a call from someone saying they’re an LPCU staff member and you aren’t sure, you can call us directly on 020 7471 2620.
Avoid shared computers and Wi-Fi
- It’s best to avoid logging in on a shared computer or via public Wi-Fi if you can—it’s safer to wait until you are home.
- If you do need to use a public computer, make sure your username and password have not been saved before you log off.
- Always log out when you are finished.
- Consider using a VPN to help reduce the risks from using public Wi-Fi
